Hello there! My name is Dave and I'd like to take this opportunity to welcome you to Sixguns and Sunsets, my blog about Western films. I started this blog primarily because Western films are grossly underrepresented in the blogosphere, which is a travesty considering the popularity the genre once enjoyed among moviegoers. There are scores of blogs dedicated to horror films and dozens featuring sci-fi movies, but you'd be hard pressed to come up with five Western blogs - so here we are. My goal is to post a review every couple of weeks of films both new and old, and to build a comprehensive screenshot catalog of every actor/actress whose appeared in a credited role in a Western film. Monumental, I agree, but I know I'll enjoy putting it together - and hope you will too.
I aim to include every feature length film of the Western genre available on DVD, but there are a few formats that will not appear on the blog. Television series, short films, and documentaries will be purposely excluded. Made-for-TV movies and mini-series, though, are in.
